Within the depths of Toronto is High Park, complete with a labyrinth, lush gardens, a nature center, waterpark, pool, tennis club, ski club, lake views, and a small zoo. There are even a few eateries around to fill your midday munchies. High Park is easy to access by public transit, and the parking is sometimes convenient. Grab some canoes or kayaks from Harbourfront Canoe & Kayak Center. The truly adventurous can rent stand-up paddleboards. Toronto Island SUP begins rental service as of June 1. Toronto Island features several beaches and parks. To the north is the city skyline, to the south is big, blue Lake Ontario.

Take the hour drive from Toronto to nearby Niagara Falls -- three giant waterfalls that straddle the 49th parallel between the province of Ontario and the state of New York.
