I've been a language learner my whole life, and began a deep dive into Spanish language and culture after a trip to Costa Rica in 1996. I've taught the language in Calgary schools for 20 years as well as coaching small groups and individuals. My passion for language came from my dreams of travel, many of which have come true. I've traveled Canada and the world, and I've always made it a point to learn the basics of a new language before going to the associated country. Spanish became my focus because of a dream to retire in Latin America. A trial retirement in 2011 took me and my daughter to Uruguay for a year and a half where we immersed ourself into the culture and daily life. Since then I've taught in bilingual programs.
